PTA BOARD MEMBERS AND VOLUNTEERS FOR THE 2019/2020 SCHOOL YEAR

Hello!

The Wood Ranch Elementary PTA has open board (and non board) positions for the

2019/2020 school year.

Board members are expected to attend one meeting a month

(times and days vary, but all meetings last generally 1-1.5hrs.).

Non board (or committee) members assist the board member and are NOT required to attend meetings.

 Please have a look below and see if a position matches your interest and availability.

We are still looking to fill the these positions:

Jr. Olympics (Co-Chair Needed!)

If you are interested, please sign up and the PTA President, Michele Shimp, will be in touch with you to discuss the position further.

Financial Secretary (BOARD)

1-2 hrs/ week. Assist the treasurer with financial related duties.

2-3 months of heavy involvement; slower towards December and rest of the year.Work together with the President to establish a plan on how to meet and exceed our school's PTA membership goal.

Back to School Committee (NON BOARD) (4)

Help the PTA make Back to School Night go off without a hitch. One time event, approx. 2-4 hour commitment on day of.

Book Fair Committee/ Volunteer (NON BOARD) (10)

Help setting up or take down our annual book fair, answering questions, assisting the book fair chairperson as needed. 1-2 hour commitment on designated day(s)

Community Outreach (BOARD)

Find local organizations ( within Ventura County) that Wood Ranch Elementary can partner up with to benefit their cause ( such as animal shelter, children's hospital, senior center etc.). 2-4 Community Service Events per year.

Corporate Fundraising (BOARD)

Are you well connected in the community? Do you know of businesses that would love to contribute? This position is for you! Ongoing commitment, can be done mainly from home. Time commitment: A few hours monthly.

I’m not necessarily well connected, however, I would love to explore this role to see if I can be a good fit.

Direct Drive (BOARD)

1-2 hours every week. Be the Driver in the Fundraising Seat! With the help of the President come up with a Direct Drive Plan to help generate donations that directly fund programs, events and assemblies at our school.

I have little ones, however I am willing to commit as many hours as possible at school and home. If someone with a better availability that would like to volunteer just let me know.

Earth Day (BOARD)

You will be in charge of setting up some sort of activity, assembly or event for our students in honor of Earth Day! Time Commitment: All day on day of event ( 4/22/20) and some hours prior to the event date for coordinating your plan.

Harvest Festival Committee (NON BOARD) (6)

Help plan, organize and execute our annual Harvest Festival. You'll be working together with this year's chairperson and will help where needed in the planning process and on the day of.

Hospitality (BOARD)

1-2 hrs/month- This position is ideal for someone who loves to create a warm and welcoming environment during meetings and events ( for staff, PTA, students and families alike).

Help the Hospitality chair shop, organize and decorate for events ( Kindergarten orientation, back to school night, teacher appreciation week etc.). Ideal for someone who has the heart and love for decorating and putting on smaller events.

Help organize the 3 Day Music Van experience for our third and fifth grade students. Time commitment: some hours 'behind the scenes' and about 2-4 hours during the event duration( 3 days).

Red Ribbon Week- 2019 Theme: SEND A MESSAGE. STAY DRUG FREE.™ (BOARD)

Promote this year's Red Ribbon Week and educate students in an age appropriate way about Red Ribbon Week while working together with Ms. Snowden and the PTA President. Some pre planning needed ( decoratinng of school, decide on theme etc.).

Reflections (BOARD)

Help educate our students how to enter into our annual art contest.Time commitment varies and training will be provided.

Help the Yearbook Chairperson create this year's yearbook. Lots of work goes into the yearbook and any help is very much appreciated!

Helps ensure PTA has the man-power needed to pull off events. Helps create Sign Ups, coordinate sign in/out for events, works to pull from community resources for volunteers (e.e. middle schools, scout troops, etc).
