North Carolina Bankers Association
Sign up to volunteer at Camp Challenge this summer during one of our Financial Literacy classes! Classes are held Monday through Friday, and last from 9:00 am-12:30 pm. Camp Challenge runs for eight consecutive weeks, beginning Sunday, June 9, and ending on Friday, August 2. Once again this year, we will be using Junior Achievement's Economics for Success program as our curriculum. Upon signing up, volunteers may choose to be either a Lead Instructor or a Teacher's Assistant for the day/lesson of their choice. All volunteers will be emailed the lesson plan prior to their day at Camp Challenge. There will also be two full-time Financial Literacy Counselors there at all times, already trained to teach the curriculum, just in case you may need any assistance. Teacher's Assistants may also view the lesson plan ahead of time if they wish, but will not need to prepare anything ahead of their day at Camp. Teacher's Assistants will be there to help the Financial Literacy Counselors with any activities, as well as interact and connect with the campers.
Volunteers are invited to stay and eat lunch with the campers immediately after classes end at 12:30, and are more than welcome to stay and participate in any of the traditional summer camp activities during the afternoon!
Camp Challenge takes place at YMCA Camp Weaver: 4924 Tapawingo Trail, Greensboro, NC 27406.
Donations for Camp Challenge can be mailed to the North Carolina Bankers Association Foundation at: PO Box 19999, Raleigh, NC 27619. Thanks for your support!
