2018 Tangletown 4th of July Parade & Celebration

Tangletown 4th of July Volunteers

The Tangletown Neighborhood Association is looking for volunteers to help with our annual 4th of July Parade and Celebration at Fuller Park (4802 Grand Ave S). The event kicks off with the parade departing Washburn High School at 10am (parade participants gather at 9:30am). Festivities run from 10am-1pm at Fuller Park and include bounce houses, face painting, carnival games, live music, and snow cones. Volunteer options include set up, assisting with the parade, helping run an assortment of games and booths, as well as tear down. 

All volunteers will receive a Tangletown shirt.

Set Up 8:00am-9:30am (15)

Move all chairs and tables out from park building to appropriate locations in park. Arrange Tangletown table. Assist with band setup. Direct vendors to appropriate drop locations. Hang signage in locations easily seen. Decorate as time permits.

Parade at Washburn High School 9:30am-10:30am (4)

Assist with decorations. Coordinate departure with fire engine to lead parade. Ensure adult supervision at intersections and around traffic generally. Carry banner to lead parade.

Refer to will call list and hand out wristbands to those who pre-purchased.

Solicit volunteers for future events and Tangletown committees, hand out promo items, encourage people to sign up for email list, sell t-shirts. Answer questions about Tangletown and current initiatives.

One person in the tank (ideally clothed and known individual). One person checking wristbands, collecting balls, resetting triggered tank.

Check wristband (one craft per wristband), hand out craft packets, and help kids as needed.

Check wristband, help lead a variety of games,make sure everything is running smoothly, and award prizes.

Tear Down 1:00pm-2:00pm (10)

Return all chairs and tables to park building, pick up trash and recycling, find secure storage for all tents and other materials.
