CDCTA October 3 2021 Schooling Show

THANK YOU for Volunteering with CDCTA!
Each volunteer position has a short job description and hours. Some positions may be split into two shifts, if you cannot commit a full day please make a note with your signup or email MaryAnn. 

On show day, plan to arrive bright & early and check in with the volunteer coordinator or show secretary. Plan for weather - sunscreen, jacket etc. The show goes on rain or shine!

Saturday Show Setup (8)

Day prior to the show, all hands on deck to assemble the dressage arenas. Please arrive at 3pm, plan for 3 hours.

Sit with judge and record scores and comments. Please arrive at 8am to receive paperwork and supplies. Hours 8am-end off show, approx 8 hours.

Jump Judge [9am-approx 1pm]

Starting & Judging/Scoring Jumping Rounds. Checking jump height between divisions.

Dressage Ring Starters [830am-end of show] (2)

2 Dressage Ring Starters, to help keep riders on-time and organized. Arrive by 830am to receive a clipboard and walkietalkie. Hours 830am-end, approx 7 hours

Jump Crew [9am-approx 1pm] (2)

Assist the Jump Judge with setting jump heights and picking up knocked rails. Arrive 30min prior to first class, approx 930am-1pm.


Dressage Warmup Steward [830am-end of show]

Standby at the dressage warmup area and help keep riders on-time and organized. Arrive 830am for clipboard and walkietalkie. Shift 830am-end of show approx 7 hours


Test Runner [9am-12noon] (3)

No running actually required! Collecting tests from the judges and brining them to the show office for scoring.

Afternoon - collect scored tests from judges and carry to the secretary booth.

Score Dressage tests- experience or training before the show required.

Show Hospitality [8am-end of show]

Assist the Show Management in checking in riders, posting results, handing out tests, and facilitate the bridle tag/water bottle exchange.


End of Show Takedown (5)

Breakdown the dressage rings and get everything back in the club trailer. Approx 1 hour, the more helpers the quicker!

Assist Volunteer Coordinator MaryAnn throughout the day. Learn about the different horse show job positions.
