This is the official sign ups for the 2022 Clam Chowder Cook-Off. This is open tot he first 20 contestants. Once the list has filled, a wait list will be created and you will be added IF you check the box to be added.
1.) All contestants must check in to the farm no later than 12:45pm with their chowder. Judging will take place at 1pm. Gates open at 2pm. You must be ready to serve your samples promptly at 2pm.
2.) All chowders must be homemade by. the contestant. It can be ANY kind of chowder. We ask you bring a large crockpot container full or more. If you have a smaller crockpot but need to bring another smaller container for refill you may do so.
3.) Electrucal outlets will be provided for your crockpots.
4.) Tables will be supplied. You may bring your own table cover, decor, signage etc. IF you are reprsenting a business you may put out business cards or small signs.
5.) The judging will consist of 1st place and 2nd place and People's Choice.
6.) Prizes are: 1st Place: $100; 2nd Place: $50 and People's Choice: $35 Farm Gift Certificate
7.) Types of Chowders: you may fix any type of clam chowder. It MUST have clam in in but can consist of any other seafood or ingredient, as well.
8.) You will be in charge of handing out samples. Sampling cups, spoons and napkins will be supplied. These will be "bite sized" sampling cups as we want your chowder to be sampled as much as possible.
9.) You may add toppings to your chowder such as cheese, croutons etc.
10.) Judging will consist of Originality, Taste, Use of Ingredients and Texture.
11.) Winners will be announced on the Beer Barn Stage as soon after the sampling has ended as possible.
12.) Judging is BLIND. When you check in you will be given a numbered container. Judges will not know who's chowder they are tatsing.
