SOS: Serve on Saturdays! The Dorcas food pantry is partnering with FUMC to expand the hours that their food pantry is open, making access to healthy foods for those in need possible. Please consider taking a 3 hour shift, from 12-3 pm on the first, third, and fifth Saturday of every month to make this happen. Shifts are done in groups of 4, and children 10 and up are welcome with an adult's supervision. This is a fun way to serve as a family or with friends from a small group. Please have one person from your group attend a training with Jill Straight from 11:30am-noon one Saturday in March, even if you don't plan to work a shift until later in the year.
Please watch the following training video before your shift: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xrD2np2bOY&feature=youtu.be
Please feel free to park in the front lot and ring the bell at the "Pantry Receiving" door, which is immediately to the right of the Dorcas Thrift Shop at 187 High House Road, Cary. The door is marked "Pantry Receiving".
Temporary nametags will be inside the Pantry Procedure book. Please wear one so that everyone can get to know you!
We're looking forward to kicking this off and being able to serve more folks in need in our community, thanks to you!
