EVJCC Ladles of Love
One Sunday each month, volunteers gather at the East Valley JCC to cook kosher nutritious meals to deliver to individuals in need throughout the Valley, as part of the EVJCC’s Ladles of Love program.
The EVJCC is currently seeking volunteer groups to participate in this monthly effort by providing volunteers to help cook the meals and deliver them to the homes of the individuals who receive them.
Volunteers are needed for the following dates:
2018: Aug. 19, Sept. 16, Oct. 14, Nov. 4 and Dec. 9
2019: Jan. 20, Feb. 10, March 10, April 14 and May 19
Volunteers can sign up to either cook or drive (or both).
The cooking shifts are 9 a.m.-noon at the EVJCC, with up to 10 cooks. Volunteers will participate in the cooking process and help package up to 50 meals. A program coordinator will be available to assist with cooking. Children ages 12 and older are welcome to volunteer in the kitchen with an adult.
Drivers arrive at the EVJCC (908 N. Alma School Road, Chandler) at 11:45 a.m. to pick up the meals. There are also designated meal exchange points in Central Phoenix and Scottsdale for volunteers who can help deliver meals in those areas at about 1:15 p.m.
Deliveries are made to people’s homes and volunteers get to meet the recipients, which can offer a personal and meaningful experience for both the deliverer and the recipient.
Please sign up for a cooking or driving shift using this form (you may sign up for multiple shifts).
Thank you for your participation in helping members of our community!
