NDA CC Parent Group 2019 - "Key Volunteer" Roles & "Shadow" Needs

Welcome to our NDA Cross Country Family.  We are blessed to have so many dedicated parents who help with our large team.  Our Parent Group motto is “Many Hands Make Light Work.”  We have found that not only are we helping the CC team, but we are forming a wonderful family atmosphere and culture.

Below is a summary of "Key Volunteer" & "Shadow" roles all needed in support of the 2019 NDA Cross Country Season.  Key Volunteer Roles are "Chair" positions, which is a specific lead role commitment for the Season.  The time commitment is roughly 30-min to 1-hour per week.  The "Shadow" positions are to learn specific Key Volunteer Roles that presently have a Chair or Co-Chairs where those people are volunteering for their last season.  The intent is for a "Shadow" to learn the role throughout this coming season, and then take on the Chair or Co-Chair role in the 2020 season.  Details specific to each Key Volunteer Role and Shadow need are listed below.

Additionally, there are other "Meet-by-Meet Volunteer Needs", which are roles that take just a few minutes to no more than an hour, a few or more times per season, all of which allow you to get very involved in the functioning of the Team's CC Meets and Invitational Events.  Those of you interested in serving in this capacity (I hope that you will all volunteer, as your help will be needed!), there will be a separate Sign-up Genius (coming out soon) that will list every Home and Away Meet, and the specific volunteer needs for each JV and Varsity race within each of the events.  

Finally, the CC Team cannot function without needed supplies, which include bottled water, paper towels, trash bags, bug spray, First Aid Kit items, and so on.  Supply donations are appreciated! Needed supply items will also be captured on the other Sign-up Genis (coming out soon).

"Camp Gard" Shadow

Key Volunteer Role: Works closely with Co-Chairs to learn the role of "Camp Gard" Chair and the lay of the "Camp Gard" land. This person will be "Camp Gard" Chair in 2020 Seaon.


Bus Attendance Chair

Key Volunteer Role: Coordinates other volunteer parents, and themself, to conduct Bus Attendance for Away Meets and Back-pack Drivers for Home Meets, on a rotating basis.


Chocolate Milk Co-Chair

Key Volunteer Role: Work with other Co-Chair (Jamie Ledvina) in coordinating Meets to pick-up, ice-down and deliver Chocolate Milk to Meets. Jamie will distribute at JV Races; Co-Chair distributes at Varisity Races. Cooler supplied. Expenses Reimbursed.


Chute Chair

Key Volunteer Role: Organizes volunteers who assist winded athletes after their race, providing cold towels, possible chute or post chute care (distributing a band-aid, providing water, etc.). Parents with a calm and comforting disposition are needed.


Cold Towels Chair

Key Volunteer Role: This role includes setting up and maintaining the “Cold Towel” coolers with ice, water and towels; transporting the coolers either to the Bus at school or directly to the Meet; collecting used towels at Meets; and, launder towels.


Parent Volunteer Coordinator "Shadow"

Key Volunteer Role: Shadow Parent Volunteer Coordinator for 2019 Season, with intent to take on Parent Volunteer Coordinator role in the 2020 season. Any questions regarding this role can be directed to [email protected], or (920)655-4081.

Michelle Nowak

Social Events Chair

Key Volunteer Role: Coordinates and works with other event-specific Chairs in overseeing all Social Eents including; Start of Season Pool Party, Pasta Dinners, and Team Mass and Brunch. Inventories, replenishes and stores Social Events supplies.


Supplies Manager Chair

Key Volunteer Role: Monitors supply levels of disposable items in camp (list will be provided; examples: cups, garbage bags, etc). Replenishes supplies; expenses covered. Works with Parent Volunteer Coordinator to request supply donations as needed.

Laura Beck

Team Historian Chair

Key Volunteer Role: Track key team history for the season; document history for the team website. (Conference Honors, Sectional Honors, State Qualifiers, State Honors, etc.). Work with website owner to update website history.


Videographer Chair

Key Volunteer Role: Responsible for creating our year-end team video for the CC banquet. This person approves the content of the Season Video (shown at the Banquet), of which is often times co-developed by a Senior Runner along with the Chair.


Warm-up Collection Chair

Key Volunteer Role: Organizes and schedules the volunteers who collect athletes' warm-ups at the start line and returns them to Camp.


Year End Banquet Chair "Shadow"

Key Volunteer Role: Shadow Banquet Co-Chairs during 2019 season with intent to take on role in 2020 season. Any questions regarding this role can be directed to [email protected], or (920) 655-4081.
