Sanderson High School Marching Band
Please consider signing up as an After-School Practice Chaperone. Practices are usually held on the Bus Lot Pavement and last from 3-5:30 on T, W, Th. One Saturday rehearsal in the Stadium is also included.
This is a fun way to support your student(s). You watch the students march, visit with other band parents, and chill! Chaperones dole out snacks during breaks and refill water bottles between breaks. We may dole out an Advil or two, band-aid, or ice-pack as needed. We need at least two parent chaperones per session but more are welcome to come watch rehearsal. Having two parents at each rehearsal enables Mr. Jenner and his staff to focus on the show as we help with other non-marching needs.
This is a great way to find out where your student is during any part of the show. Once they put on their uniforms, it can be hard to tell them apart. It is also fun to watch the show develop as the students first learn drill and then add extra elements they call choreography.
Just as a reminder, Percussion and Guard meet on Monday (without parental chaperones needed because they will be indoors in smaller groups). Brass and Woodwind march on Tuesdays and everyone comes Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Please watch for one more Chaperone sign-up which will come out mid-September for Chaperones for Competitions and competition day rehearsals.
Thank you so much for your help!
