Westminster will continue our Salvation Army bell ringing tradition at the Friendly Center Harris Teeter beginning Saturday Dec. 1 through Saturday Dec. 22. This family-friendly Advent tradition funds a large portion of the services offered by Salvation Army throughout the year. Time slots fill quickly so register now. Our two hour shifts are Monday - Friday from 4 - 8 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 8 pm. For questions, contact Westminster member and bell ringing coordinator Melanie Wilkerson at [email protected] or 336-255-2433.
Instructions for Westminster Volunteers:
.) Please be on time for your shift. If you have to be late, call or text Melanie Wilkerson at 336-255-2433.
.) When you arrive for your shift, someone else may be ringing before you and you will just take over for them OR you may be the first ringers that day in which case a Salvation Army employee will bring you the kettle. IF it is not there when you arrive – they will arrive soon. Each SA employee manages several kettles in the same part of Greensboro so it can take a few min for them to make their rounds.
.) Never leave the kettle unattended and do not take the kettle into Harris Teeter! Wait for the next person. If they are 10 minutes late, please call or text Melanie Wilkerson at 336-255-2433 for further instructions. If you cannot reach her, please call Steven Still at 336-442-8184. He will have the kettle picked up.
.) Individuals or up to 4 people per shift take turns standing at the kettle ringing the bell, and thanking donors. Please read the Salvation Army Code of Conduct and Bell Ringing Dress Code attached to this sign-up.
.) If you experience any problems while ringing call or text Melanie Wilkerson at 336-255-2433 or Salvation Army Kettle Coordinator Steven Still at 336-442-8184.
.) If you need to cancel your time, please try to find your own replacement. If you are unable, please call or text Melanie Wilkerson at 336-255-2433 as soon as possible.
.) If you would like to be on a substitute list, please email Melanie Wilkerson at [email protected] and include a phone number where you can easily be reached.
.) If you feel led, please take a photo of you and/or your team and email it to [email protected] so we can use it for future publicity. Please just send your best photo(s). THANK YOU!
