Underground Parent Volunteers
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Each month for underground consists of a fellowship fun night, a service project night, a "life skills" night, and a devotional night. Please comment on your sign up if you'd like to lead a devotional or not, what life-skill you'd be teaching at one of the meetings that month, and or if you have a certain service project you'd like to suggest that Tyler look at for that month. Below our monthly meeting structure will be explained for further clarity.
Each "month" slot is signing up to be present and assist during those meetings during that month. Devotionals can be planned and led for you by Tyler upon request, or you are welcome to use Tyler's library of devotionals in her office and lead one yourself if you'd like, or you're welcome to plan your own to lead one! Just comment on your sign up what you'd prefer. Devotional topics and verses used need to be submitted to tyler a week before they are presented at her email [email protected] Some months only may have a few weeks, and the opportunities that month will be listed next to it (as it might not have a "life skill" or "devotional" night. Below these types of nights are explained in further detail.
Devotional Nights are focused on a meaningful devotional, allowing us to delve deeper into our faith and focus on a specific verse or concept. Tyler has several books in her office you can use if you're interested in planning your own, or she's happy to plan one herself if you're less comfortable with that! Just make sure you list your preference on the sign-up!
Fun Fellowship nights are focused on fun activities to build our groups bonds and friendship! These nights often might be trips somewhere, fun activities here or around town, or even a fun event with another church. These are focused on making connections and enjoying time together.
Service project nights are focused on doing a certain service project to help our surrounding community. This could be a wide range of service both inside and outside our own churches and communities. If you have a cause or an organization close to you, consider giving tyler a service project suggestion for the month you're choosing!
Life-Skills nights are a new addition this year! Each of us has had to learn things that have aided us in being an adult. Things like car maintenance. how to change a tire, budgeting, taxes, laundry & cleaning, communication, spotting red flags in relationships, cooking, other domestic skills, and other skills that may or may not be taught anymore. Each of the parents here specializes or is good at something, and we'd like to share that knowledge with the kids! Having to figure all this out correctly when you go to your next step after high school can feel overwhelming! We can help our kids get the knowledge they need to feel comfortable being on their own once they've finished high school and are ready for the next step in their lives. Tyler is excited to work with you and happy to help you make this work! We would love for the kids to be able to grow alongside their parents, and allow the parents to see the amazing faith-building work these kids do! The underground youth group is an amazing opportunity to help these kids delve deep and figure out the next steps in their faith journey.
