24 Hour Prayer Vigil
The April 24 Hour Prayer Vigil falls on Maundy Thursday. That name may sound strange to you. “Maundy” or mandate comes from an old Latin word reminding us of what Jesus said to his disciples after the Last Supper in John 13:34-35:
“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
In honor of Maundy Thursday, I would encourage you to reflect and pray on Jesus’ mandate. Jesus will not return to Earth in power and glory to restore the Kingdom until we accomplish this commandment and do our part to bring about the Kingdom in the here and now as His disciples making other disciples.
We as disciple makers have the unique ability to bring hope, joy, and light to all those around us. Continue to pray for the sick and those who are on the front lines of healing. Pray for a world-revival of salvation through Jesus and increased disciple making in Olney, Montgomery County, Maryland and our nation.
