Every year, California Revels puts together a chorus totaling 60+ singers. For many chorus members, participating in Revels is the highlight of the holiday season, bringing them together in community, transporting them to another time, and giving them comfort in the darkest days of the year.
And it's a lot of fun!
Performance dates are usually in December, Fridays 8pm, Saturdays and Sundays 1pm and 5pm. Possible additional weekday evening shows may be added.
Music rehearsals every Monday night beginning September 23.
Starting approximately November 9, staging rehearsals most weekend days and weekday evenings.
Children's schedule less than adults.
Adult & Teen (Young Performers) Chorus vocal auditions for Christmas Revels are done by reservation in small groups. You can do that here.

Parents, please plan to stay the entire time.
Who: Performers - ages 13+
When: Saturday, June 8th-12:30 pm to 5:00 pm & Sunday, June 9th-3:30 pm to 5:00 pm
Where: Choir Room, First Congregational Church, 2501 Harrison Street, Oakland, 94612
Please prepare a short song, 1-2 minutes in length. Most applicants choose folk songs or classical songs, but choose something you know well. There will be an accompanist. We do not recommend singing to a recording. A cappella is fine. Your vocal audition will include a few vocal scales and exercises, and reading a short piece with your audition group. You may audition without an appointment but you may need to wait. Bring possible conflicts to add to your application. Photos are not required but if you have a small picture that we can staple to to your audition form, so much the better!
There will be a short REQUIRED dance audition, if you intend to dance in the performance. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Dance groups will be taken on Saturday around 2:00pm and 4:00pm and once on Sunday around 5:00pm. Please let the choreographer know if you have physical issues which limit your type of participation. We can work around those.
