Earth/Arbor Day
In Spring as we enjoy the bird sounds, buds, and busy bees we also notice how much litter accumulated over the winter - So Topsfield gets busy cleaning it up! READ ON FOR info about Town Clean-Up, as well as some other Earth Day inspired activities and resources! This annual Topsfield tradition is a great way to show and feel pride in our community!
TOWN CLEAN-UP:
Collection Booth at Town Hall on April 30th, 9-11am - but once you sign up you can clean your area ANY DAY in April!
SIGN UP* for your street/location of choice, and use whatever trash bags and gloves you have around.*
*If you need bags or gloves, email [email protected] or come to the booth next to Town Hall on the morning of April 30th
To dispose of your collected litter, you can either put it out with your weekly curbside trash pickup if it's not too much, or you can come to Town Hall on Saturday, April 30th between 9-11am (look for volunteers at a table between Town Hall and Proctor school.
Kids who participate will recieve a "golden ticket" coupon for a special treat from a shop in town!
*Note: it's OK to double-up on specific areas if they need it, even if sign-up looks full - you can still submit photos to get credit for participating if you've collected trash, whether name appears in the sign-up genius or not.
CAN YOU HELP US KEEP OUR TOWN CLEAN? We would like to idenfity areas of highest need for more routine cleanup.
Please fill out this brief google survey after you are done, (it'll take just two minutes) to let us know about what you collected in your designated area, or any other feedback you can share about locations that commonly seem to accumulate a lot of litter. This will help us plan targeted efforts for keeping Topsfield clean, beautiful and healthy!
For fun: SUBMIT PHOTOS and help spread the word!

One last note: We want to recognize that the Topsfield Garden Club and Topsfield Historical Society have long been partners and advocates for this event, for conserving our local environment, and growing awareness about climate change and best practices in our daily lives to care for the earth we all depend on. The Congregational Church of Topsfield's volunteers have also been active year after year with coordinating town clean-up each spring.
If you have something else you are doing or heard about in town, we invite you to share it by emailing [email protected]! There are lots of ways to be stewards of the earth - thank you!
