TRCA Adopt a Park
Keep our parks clean and help grow our scholarship fund!
Adopt-A-Park program allows an individual, family or group to help preserve and maintain the parks within the Taylor Run Community, while raising money for our scholarship fund. Every year, we give out several scholarships to local students and your help can increase the support we provide.
The Adopt-a-Park program is a cooperative venture between the State of Virginia, the City of Alexandria, and Alexandrian citizens to improve the appearance and condition of Alexandria’s small urban parks and open spaces. Community groups monitor and clean up their park at least once a week from April through November. City officials visit these parks once a month and award points based on the park’s condition. At the season’s end, cash awards are made to participating groups based on the points earned.
We will be responsible for picking up, disposal, general maintenance and clean up of the Property. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the removal of all glass, cans, bottles, paper and other litter from the Property as is necessary to maintain a clean and litter-free environment. We will sweep and rake broken glass and other debris from the grass, soil, paved and mulched areas of the Property. All other maintenance, such as weeding, watering, mowing and repairs on and to the Property shall be the responsibility of the City.
