Bay Valley Chinese School
In-depth exploration of the Chinese History in Angel Island!!!
BVCS is a heritage school that teaches Chinese language, culture and history. Heritage is an essential part of the present we live in and of the future we build. Through our annual cultural tour, we hope to open a window for our students and parents to trace the footsteps of the Chinese community in the San Francisco Bay Area. This year, we shall be exploring Angel Island, which is now a State Park but between 1910 and 1940 was an immigration station that processed hundreds of thousands of immigrants. Majority of them were from China and they were detained on this isolated island for as little as two weeks or as much as two years.
Tour Fee: $20 per person (same for adults and children), which includes tips for the bus driver, ferry ride, park entrance fee and guided tour fee.
