Would you like to help provide a lunch or dinner to our small group of AmeriCorp volunteers? They will be staying with us from August 16th-October 16th.
AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs, made up of three primary programs that each take a different approach to improving lives and fostering civic engagement. Members commit their time to address critical community needs like increasing academic achievement, mentoring youth, fighting poverty, sustaining national parks, preparing for disasters, and more.
You can help by providing a lunch or dinner for this group of young adults. They will be working in Cannon Falls, Red Wing, and Lake City. This is an excellent opportunity to be a part of Habitat for Humanity and to spread the Minnesota hospitality. This could be a great youth group, prayer group or community outreach project in your church/organization.
Some examples of a lunch could be sandwiches, pulled pork, chili, sloppy joes and hot dogs. The possibilities are endless. We ask they you provide a main dish, side dish, fruit/vegies and a dessert. I am sure they would appreciate homebaked treats. Or perhaps you would like to invite them to a dinner hosted at your church/organization.
Habitat will provide the paper products for the on site meal. The locations may vary during the course of the 2 months stay so please understand that we will do everything we can to help provide the food to the members.
