Troop 440 is hosting a merit badge day as part of its 70th Anniversary celebration.
The troop is offering 15 merit badges classes: 7 in the morning session (9 am to noon) and 8 in the afternoon session (1 pm to 4 pm). You can select one merit badge class in the morning and/or one merit badge class in the afternoon. The cost is $11 per class, and you pay when you register for the class.
You also have the option of reserving and paying for a $6 lunch from noon to 1 p.m. (two slices of pizza, chips, and drink). You can also bring a lunch.
Scouts should bring their merit badge blue cards signed by their scoutmaster. Some merit badges may have prerequisites, which are requirements for the merit badge you have to complete in advance. A scout is encouraged to the read the relevant merit badge booklet in order to fully participate in class and complete the merit badge. A scout is also encouraged to print and bring to class the relevant merit badge work sheet, which can be found at: http://usscouts.org/mb/worksheets/list.asp
The list of merit badge requirements that a scout must complete in advance of Merit Badge Day can be found here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1el9Ro6fkKy1xdHsDdCa7esjMBfuojy5D
All merit badge classes will be held at St. Bernadette School (located directly across from Montgomery Blair High School) at 80 University Blvd East, Silver Spring, MD 20901.
