2022 Diamond State Masters Regatta

Set Up

NOTE DATE: FRIDAY - Help prepare the regatta site (including, but not limited to: assembling tents, placing docks, hanging signs, putting out tables and chairs, preparing launches, setting up the stakeboats). Chief: Kevin Canning

Stakeboat

This position is for our high school volunteers. Responsible for assisting with boat placement at the start of each race. Shifts are am and pm and volunteers are welcome to do one or both days. Chief: Karen Hancock.

Launch Driver

Requires ability to drive launch (or willingness to learn). This is not a position you can leave mid-shift, so please sign up for those times you are not racing. Chief: Bob Ward

Bow Marker Tent

Responsible for distributing bow markers to rowers before they proceed to launch tent. Chief: Ann Bergen

Launch Tent A

Responsible for calling racers to the starting line and performing safety checks on boats before launch. Chief: Ken Hutton

Dock A (Launch)

Volunteers assist rowers/teams with launching safely and efficiently.

Horn/Flag

At finish line, drop/raise flag or blow horn when boats cross finish line. Great place to see the races!

Finish Line Tent

Call out boats as they cross the finish line to establish their order and record their times. Requires use of binoculars and/or stop watches.

Docks C/D (Recovery)

Volunteers assist rowers/teams with docking, ensuring the quick, safe retrieval of boats and oars after each race.

Race Results Runner

Relay race results from finish line officials, distribute to medals table and post to results board.

Medals Tent

Distribute medals to rowers after results are final. Chief: Fran Greenglass.

Social

Volunteers will assist with distributing and refilling coolers, assist with hospitality for the referees and other duties as needed. Chief: Karen Baumgartner

Floaters

Floaters are assigned wherever needed, usually for limited periods of time (for example, to replace someone who is racing). Good chance to sample numerous volunteers positions.

Safety Chief's Assistant

Volunteer will distribute and collect handheld radios at the beginning and end of each day- during the day, will assist the Safety Chief as needed. This is an all day assignment. Chief: Don Verdiani

Launch Coordinator - NO LAUNCH DRIVING REQUIRED

Requires a clipboard and ability to organize launch drivers at the start of each shift and for ensuring a quick seamless start to each shift- troubleshoot as needed. An all day assigment but gaps of time free to float to other roles. Chief: Bob Ward

Volunteer Services Tent

Volunteer will assist with signing in volunteers, distributing t-shirts, taking lunch orders and distributing lunch. Chief: Michelle Canning

Clean Up

Volunteers assist with tear down and storing equipment following the regatta. You can volunteer for this position alone, or in addition to other shifts. After the clean up, come back to the WRC Boathouse for pizza and libations.

ONLY FOR REGATTA COMMITTEE AND ALL OTHER VOLUNTEERS NOT IN SPECIFIC SIGN-UP TIME SLOTS ON SIGN-UP GENIUS. WE NEED YOU TO SIGN UP HERE TO GET INCLUDED IN LUNCH ORDERS.
