SARWA Volunteers

Ford Holiday River Parade

Help us share the "Christmas Spirit" at our 39th annual Ford Holiday River Parade on Friday, November 29th on the Downtown River Walk. Over 50,000 spectators come to Downtown San Antonio to watch in delight as 28 lighted floats will bring to life the 2019 Texas Music Christmas theme with decor and costumed float riders as millions of viewers watch nationwide on a televised broadcast. This family-friendly event takes place each year the day after Thanksgiving and kicks off the official lighting of the San Antonio River Walk with 100,000 lights.

All volunteers will receive a fun elf hat, snacks, and beverages for their time. We also encourage volunteers to dressed in holiday themed attire if they can.

Those that volunteer with us the entire day will enjoy the following amenities:

  • Multiple chances to enter in a raffle to win numerous door prizes. Volunteers will receive a ticket for every hour they volunteer. All tickets must be turned in at the end of volunteer’s shift. The raffle will be broadcasted on our Facebook page on Monday, December 2nd at 12:00 p.m. to announce the winners of the prizes.
  • A lunch provided by What-A-Burger.

This event is only successful due to the help of volunteers. Will you join us in our excitement for the Christmas holiday and be a part of the Ford Holiday River Parade tradition?

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Apart from the Ticket Takers all positions must be able to stand for the duration of the parade and be able to lift 20 lbs.
