City of Kannapolis
The City of Kannapolis Parks and Recreation is hosting our third semester of an exciting and successful program called Girls Who Code, where girls will learn all concepts & basics of programming.
We are looking to bring back several women to serve as "keynote" speakers for a few of our sessions. As technology is the key concept with coding and the Girls Who Code program, we would love for you to prepare a short (20-30 min) presentation/talk/activity to share with the girls that highlights the importance of your job/career, the barriers and/or successes you have encountered as a woman in the role, and OF COURSE the technology aspect of your career!
The program meets Mondays, September 9th - December 2nd (no class on Nov 11) and your presentation would be at the end of one group (ages 8-12, 6:15-6:45pm) and at the beginning of the second group (ages 13-18, 7-7:30pm) for two separate presentations with a short 15 minute break in between groups.
Right now, I have just 6 days on our calendar for speakers, but if there is more interest, I will open up a few more days for presentations!
This program will meet at AL Brown High School in the media center.
Please sign up if you can help!
