This fall the Carmel Bach Festival will host nearly 60 musicians, and we’ll provide breakfast and lunch for them during breaks in their rehearsals. Given the changing circumstances due to Covid-19, we won’t decide exactly how we will serve the meals until about October 1. Service will begin October 18 and continue until at least October 30. The timing of shifts will depend on whether we pack individual meals or serve buffet style, but in general we’ll have two servers for each shift of two to three hours. This year no shifts will conflict with concerts.
In addition to providing a warm welcome, server job duties may include organizing and serving food, assembling salads, putting together boxed meals, and cleaning up after each service. All servers will work in the Green Room behind the Sunset Center stage and should wear casual, clean presentable attire, with hair pulled back if applicable.
Drivers will pick up food at one or two local restaurants or bakeries and bring it to the Sunset Center Green Room. Some pick-ups will be in the late morning, and others may be mid-afternoon. Please note: mileage is not reimbursed.
For now, please simply indicate your interest by signing up for Server and/or Driver shifts. As soon as the shifts have been scheduled, you’ll receive an email inviting you to sign up for specific times.
Servers are expected to attend the training session on Sunday, October 17, at 3:30.
