Troop 314 Summer Camp Swim Classification:
All Scouts attending Summer Camp must be swim classified for summer camp. Adults who intend to swim are also encouraged to be classified. With the support of the AE Finley YMCA aquatics program Troop 314 conducts classifications in advance of summer camp. Classifications are conducted by YMCA certified life guards.

BSA Swimmer Classifications:
BSA Classifies Swimmers in 3 Categories:
Swimmer, Beginner or Non-Swimmer. Scout access to water activities at Summer Camp is determined by these classifications.

Swim Merit Badge for non-Campers:
Scouts who have been with the Troop at least 1 year and are Swimmer classified can sign up to also complete the Swimming merit badge at this session same time. The Swimming merit badge is an Eagle merit badge. A good swimmer will be able to complete the badge in the two-hour time slot.
