RHPC Family Promise
Have you heard the Good News?! Family Promise has a new Day Center/Static Housing Loction! This means families will NOT move to a new church each week, but stay in one place! Host volunteers will come to the house located at 177 Spruce Street (street next to RH Funeral Home).
It is STRONGLY suggested you take the Volunteer Training if you have not done so. It will give you a full picture of Family Promise, homelessness, and our responsibilities to families we serve. Click on "Volunteer Training" under "Get Involved." It will take ~30 min to do all three sessions: https://www.familypromisebryancounty.org/
You can also sign up for the Family Promise monthly newsletter at the website.
Information about our families will be posted HERE as soon as available.

Dinner Preparers: PLEASE include basic meal plan in sign up comments. Include enough food for evening hosts.
Adults appreciate vegetables, salad, and fruit. 2% Milk, tea, lemonade, and juice (juice boxes if little ones) are good drink options. The kitchen is fully stocked and includes dishes, utensils, and glasses.
We strive for a variety of meals. Below are suggested ideas - try NOT to duplicate a meal. Make your own arrangements if you need dishes returned. Keep it simple; kids can be picky eaters :)
Suggested Menu: Sunday: Baked Chicken/Ham, Monday: Pasta (Lasagna/Spaghetti), Tuesday: Tacos/Mexican, Wednesday: Fried Chicken/Chicken Tenders, Thursday: Pork/BBQ, Friday: Pizza/Salad, Saturday: Hotdogs/Hamburgers/Chili/Soup. Note your meal in the comments.
Evening Hosts: This is a time of structured interaction and play with children. Follow parents lead. There is no TV, but WIFI is throughout the house. There are toys and games. If you enjoy art or have something special to share you are welcome to bring it!
Overnight Hosts: You will be in your own room with full bath (including shower). There are two twin beds. Bedding is provided & will be changed daily. You might want to bring your own pillow. Keep it simple. Each family has their own room. ALL bedroom doors lock. Only one person is required to spend the night, but two are welcome!
**This is a work in progress as the first families move in November 3. Host responisibilities (dinner, evening, overnight) remain the same. Additional informaion about the house itself (such as front/back door keypad lock etc.) will be provided as soon as we get it. There is a "GUIDE FOR VOLUNTEERS BOOKLET" available online created by FP. Let your FP coordinator or RHPC coordinator know if you would like this.
There are other volunteer needs as FP works toward financial stabilization including "handyman/woman" items & 4 hour shifts in the office until staff is in place. There are many projects that can be undertaken. If you have a little time to give or a skill, please contact Board Director Chris Hasson at [email protected] to help!
If you have ANY questions or need additional information as we get closer to our week, please contact your FP coordinator or an RHPC coordinator.
Blessings to you & thank you for your service!
