WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) is a K-12 program started by the National Center for Fathering. This program invites fathers, grandfathers, uncles and other father figures to volunteer at their child's/student's school during the school year. Watch DOGS volunteers perform a variety of tasks throughout their day such as monitoring the school entrances, assisting with the unloading of buses and cars, monitoring the lunch room, patrolling the hallways or helping in a classroom with teacher guided activities. We ask that you commit at least a half a day to volunteer (you may eat lunch with your child too - if they will let you!).
A suggested start time for Watch DOGS is 7:00 AM so that you can help unload students as they arrive at school. This is a busy time of day and not only is your help appreciated, the students love to see Watch DOGS! Please check in with Coach Mac in the gymnasium after carpool duty.
** In order to become part of the WATCH DOGS, you need to be registered and approved as a volunteer by UCPS. If you aren't yet, please go to this website to get registered https://volunteers.ucps.k12.nc.us/
