Independence: When to Be, or Not to Be, That is Our Question
How much independence do we offer our child and when? When do we give our child responsibilities? Which decisions is the child prepared to make? Helping your child help him or herself takes thought, preparation and observation. At times, it will need necessary adjustments.
Please join Melrose Montessori Director, Anissa Arloro, for this important discussion on aiding your child on the successful road to independence.
Anissa Arloro received her diploma from the Association Montessori Internationale at the Foundation for Montessori Education in Toronto in 1993, under the direction of the late Renilde Montessori. She is an alumna of Melrose Montessori, and has owned it since 2016. She is a member of the local Advisory Board of Directors for The Montessori Training Center Northeast, which has brought the first ever Montessori training from the Association Montessori International to the Boston area. Anissa also sits on various boards and committees at other Montessori schools in the area, and provides coaching for teachers and parents.
