Boise's Got Faith
We are excited for this year's BGF event on Sunday, May 5th, 2019! The Family Carnival begins at 1:30 p.m., the Kid's Fun Run at 2:30 p.m., and the 5K at 3:00 p.m. In order for us to put on a fun and safe day for our amazing BGF kids, their families, and all of our community supporters, WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Idaho Seed Company has generously purchased volunteer shirts for all volunteers to wear during the event. If you volunteered in the past and still have your shirt, PLEASE reuse that shirt to minimize costs. If you are new to volunteering this year then you will receive your volunteer shirt at the required Volunteer Information Meeting you will attend the day of the event.
The sign up for BGF lists the minimum age of the volunteer in each category. ANY AGE IS ABLE TO VOLUNTEER, however only individuals over the age of 14 need to sign up on Sign Up Genius. Some volunteer postions require you to be 14 years of age or older, 16 years of age or older, or over the age of 18. This is for safety purposes and what the volunteer position requires. If you have a child 13 years of age or younger that wants to volunteer you DO NOT need to sign them up on Sign Up Genius. Simply have them attend the Volunteer Meeting with a volunteer that is 14 years of age or older. They will receive a shirt and get information on the volunteer station they will be volunteering at. They will volunteer alongside the individual over the age of 14.
This year we will have 1.5 hour blocks of time for volunteering:
12:45 p.m.-2:15 p.m.
1:15 p.m.-2:45 p.m.
2:15 p.m.-3:45 p.m.
2:45 p.m.-4:15 p.m.
If you sign up to volunteer, you MUST attend a volunteer meeting directly prior to your volunteer time scheduled.
The required volunteer meeting is at the Volunteer/Info Booth located near the art museum in Julia Davis Park. The volunteer meeting times are:
During the volunteer meeting you will:
1. Receive your volunteer shirt (if you don't already have one from last year).
2. Receive your volunteer lanyard with instructions for your volunteer station.
3. New volunteers will sign a volunteer waiver so that you can volunteer during the event. The parent/guardian of minor children must sign a waiver allowing their child to volunteer.
If you have any specific questions or requests please contact CarlyAnn McLaren at [email protected]
Thank you to each and every one of you, kids and adults, who so generously give your time, energy, and love while volunteering at BGF! This day could NEVER happen without everyone working together.
