Teays Valley Bands
We will be doing instrument "fittings" for students feeding to East Middle School on Thurs April 11th at East. The fitting is a process which teams the student with a band staff member. Based on the instrument(s) in which the student is interested, the staff member will do some basic testing to see if the instrument(s) is a "fit" for the student. There are physical traits that can indicate success or potential struggle for a student with certain instruments and the staff wants to make sure that we set all students up for success next year, and for the following years, in the Teays Valley band program.
If you already have an instrument you would like the student to use, please sign up for that instrument (and any other interested ones) and bring that instrument to the fitting so that the staff can check the condition along with the student's potential fit.
Please remember that there is also an informational meeting at the Teays Valley High School auditorium on Mon April 8th at 7pm. We ask that all interested students and parents attend this meeting if possible to get more information about the program, as well as the process for obtaining an instrument.
If you have any questions you can reach our middle school band director, Mrs.Taylor Marino, at [email protected] If you cannot make the assigned night, please contact her for an alternate option.
In the provided comment space, please list the student's first few instrument choices from the following:
Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Percussion
Students only need one fitting spot no matter how many instruments we will be trying.
