Prepare a meal to share with our youth!
Every week, Project Legacy facilitates three Healing Circles and one study table (during the school year). Our youth who have fled war-torn countries, who have been granted political asylum, who were born into generational poverty and sometimes gang affiliation, or who have been homeless for years, gather together to seek and offer support and heal their pasts in order to move forward in a good and healthy way.
Before each Circle, and during study table, we gather to share a meal. This meal has become an important and meaningful ritual at Project Legacy. Many of our youth never ate together with their birth families, others had to leave their families behind as they fled to America, and still others were disowned when they broke with the family business of drug dealing and crime.
You can be a part of our youths' journey towards healing by providing a home-cooked or catered meal. Because many of our youth are Muslim, we ask that you do not use pork products.
Circles meet at 3:00 pm and 6pm on Sundays and 7pm on Thursdays at our offices at the Gage East Empowerment Center, 930- 40th St NW, Suite 102. Our study table meets at 7pm on Wednesdays.
If you do not have time to cook, you can make a tax-deductible donation that we will use to purchase food! Simply sign up for a day, and make your donation online at www.projectlegacymn.org/donate
Thank you for your support and compassion! We appreciate you!
