Come help at the The Giving Garden!
Volunteers are needed every week at the garden to plant, weed, water, and harvest. Come learn about growing organic produce while helping to feed our hungry neighbors. No gardening experience required.
Location: 660 Great Pond Rd in North Andover, on the grounds of Rolling Ridge Retreat and Conference Center. The garden is on the left as you come down the driveway, surrounded by a tall fence. Please park at the main parking lot at the end of the driveway. If Rolling Ridge has a large event and the lot is full, we may use overflow parking in a field on the right side. Look for a Giving Garden sign to park there.
What to wear and bring: Make sure you wear sunscreen and bug repellant for ticks. A hat and water bottle are recommended. Gardening gloves are helpful if you have them.
What to expect: When you arrive at the garden, one of our garden hosts will ask you to sign in, give a quick orientation to the garden, and describe the jobs for the day. Tasks may include: spreading compost, planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, or sorting produce.
Large groups: If you would like to bring a large group of volunteers, please email us at [email protected] and we will find a day that works best for both our schedules. We may be able to accommodate a time outside our normal hours.
Children: Kids of all ages are welcome at the garden. Please plan to supervise any young kids you bring with you.
Weather: Many gardening tasks still need to get done even in wet weather. However, we will cancel if there is heavy rain or thunderstorms nearby. We will do our best to email a cancelation notice.
Need to cancel? Please let us know if you cannot come either by canceling here or through email. [email protected]
