As the COVID-19 crisis continues, the Austin Public Health (APH) department is offering free COVID-19 testing to the public. As part of this testing they are providing kits composed of PPE (masks, hand sanitizer, etc) along with information related to stopping the spread of the virus.
Austin's Homeland Security and Emergency Management (HSEM) has asked ADRN to assist with putting the PPE kits together. APH has already distributed 10,000 kits and has purchased the materials for another 11,000 PPE. ADRN has agreed to round up volunteers, both ADRN badged and community based, to assist in putting the PPE kits together.
WHAT: Assemble PPE Kits
WHO: All ADRN badge volunteers along with community volunteers, including minors aged 10 to 17 (with direct parent or adult supervision)
WHEN: Friday and Saturday, Oct 23rd and 24th.
- Shift 1 from 9 AM to 12 PM
- Shift 2 from 12 PM to 3 PM
WHERE: Travis County Expo Center (7311 Decker Ln, Austin, TX 78724)
- Enter Gate 1 off Decker Ln
- Take second right into parking lot
- Located in Banquet Hall (smallest of the 3 large buildings)
WHAT TO BRING: Face covering, water bottle, sack lunch (if doing both shifts)
WHAT TO WEAR: Yellow ADRN shirt and badge (not applicable for Community volunteer) and close-toed shoes
