Lourdes University Campus Ministry
Helping Hands is a Soup Kitchen and Outreach program that serves homeless and low-income residents of East Toledo. Lourdes has committed to volunteering the 3rd Friday of every month.
Helping Hands welcomes everyone who comes to our doors for a warm meal. They never ask questions of eligibility, religious affiliation or residency. They want to provide a refuge for those who have no place to go … who are hungry and looking for someone with whom to talk. They try to stress the importance of the person and the need for human dignity. Each month we serve roughly 200-225 people.
We meet at the Campus Ministry at 8:15 am and return to Lourdes around 1 pm. If you are in need of a ride please let us know ahead of time so we can make sure we have enough space in the vehicle. If you are meeting us at Helping Hands, please arrive around 8:45 am.
If you need more info or would like to drive together contact Laurie Knueven at [email protected]
