Summer Grocery Ministry

For the ninth summer, DCPC will provide and deliver bags of groceries to families in our community who are hungry and lack easy access to food. This summer the need is greater, and we have the opportunity to help clients served by two of our mission partners, Angels & Sparrows Community Table and Caterpillar Ministries. We have committed to providing 40 bags of groceries each week, and we know that DCPC will respond with generosity and enthusiasm! The details are different this year, so please read carefully. There is a specific grocery list for each organization. If you are unable to shop but would like to contribute, you may give online or write a check with "Summer Grocery Ministry" in the memo line. The contents of one bag cost approximately $30-$35. We also have a need for drivers and delivery people as we will be delivering the groceries in the DCPC bus each Thursday. Thank you for your commitment to this ministry for so many years!

Helpful Tips

  • Double bag all groceries.
  • Bags must be dropped off at the church by 4:30 PM on Wednesday. Earlier in the week is okay.
  • Follow signs for specific drop-off locations. Bags should be dropped off in room 119. There will be two marked areas for bags in this room. Make sure your bag(s) are placed in the proper place since we are delivering to two agencies with two different lists this summer. 
  • Read all directions and reminders carefully.
