For the 2019-2020 school year, all families with children that participate in school sports are required to volunteer for one snack bar shift. Snack bar duties include: setting up, selling food/drinks, disassembly, and cleanup. Unless there are unusual circumstances, each shift is between three and four hours in length, and typically occur on Friday nights and Saturday mornings/early afternoons.
This snack bar requirement is waived for coaches, but only coaches licensed by CYO (or other applicable league) and only if the coach signed up using the STM website. If you are ever unsure if you have completed a shift, or think you may be been exempt from the snack bar requirement, please email me at [email protected].
There are three (3) school sports that utilize the gym and thus need to be staffed: Volleyball (Fall), Boys' Basketball (Winter), Girls' Basketball (Spring). Cancellations are allowed only up to one week in advance of the scheduled shift. Cancellations inside of one week, as well as no-shows on the day of the shift, will be assessed the $75 penalty. In order to receive credit for hours worked, all volunteers must sign in to record their participation during their shift. The sign in sheet is located in the black binder in the kitchen with the supplies. This binder also contains a quick two page instruction list with diagrams. In order to run the snack bar efficiently and effectively, please read this quick instruction process at the beginning of your shift.
These are the materials that you will use as part of the snack bar:
- Metal push-cart (all non-perishable snacks)
- Mini-fridge (all drinks, located on the metal push-cart)
- Microwave (for hot food and popcorn, located adjacent to the freezer)
- Cash-Box ($30 in bills + coins, key is in the binder)
- Keurig coffee maker & pods
**** Please note that due to various reasons, CYO might reschedule certain games during the course of a season. In the unlikely event that this occurs, some snack bar times might need to be adjusted.
