For the 2018-2019 school year, all families with children that participate in school sports are required to volunteer for one (1) snack bar shift per school year. Snack bar duties include: setting up, selling food/drinks, disassembly, and cleanup. Unless there are unusual circumstances, each shift is between three and four hours in length, and typically run on Friday nights and Saturday mornings/early afternoons.
Starting this year, we are implementing a new policy for coaches and athletic board members. If you are a registered STM coach (head or assistant) for the 2018-2019 school year or a member of the athletic board you are exempt from volunteering to work the snack bar.
There are three (3) school sports that utilize the gym and thus need to be staffed: Volleyball (Fall), Boys Basketball (Winter), Girls Basketball (Spring). Cancellations are allowed only up to 7 days (one week) in advance of the scheduled shift. Cancellations inside of 7 days as well as no-shows on the day of will be assessed a $75 penalty. In order to receive credit for hours worked, all volunteers must sign in to record their participation during their shift. The sign in sheet is located in the black binder in the kitchen with the supplies. This binder also contains a quick two page instruction list with diagrams. In order to run the snack bar efficiently and effectively, please read this quick instruction process at the beginning of your shift.
These are the materials that you will use as part of the snack bar:
- Metal push-cart (all non-perishable snacks)
- Mini-fridge (all drinks, located on the metal push-cart)
- Microwave (for hot food and popcorn, located adjacent to the freezer)
- Cash-Box ($30 in bills + coins, key is in the binder)
- Keurig coffee maker & pods
**** Please note that due to various reasons, CYO might reschedule certain games during the course of a season. In the unlikely event that this occurs, some snack bar times might need to be adjusted.
