Snapshot Monitoring Day
Thank you to all of the wonderful voluntees who have signed up to assist The Watershed Foundation in monitoring water quality at 100 sites throughout Kosciusko, Noble and Whitley Counties in one afternoon!
Snapshot Day volunteers are citizen scientists monitoring temperature, oxygen, transparency, bacteria, nitrate, phosphate and pH levels. The valuable data collected by Snapshot Day volunteers are used to drive action for clean water!
Monitoring sites vary from wetlands - to large streams - to small ditches through culverts on county roads. Sites have been assessed for their safety and difficulty to access - and we have a wide range for every ability!
The event runs from 2:00pm - 6:00pm. We estimate your time commitment will be 2 - 2 ½ hours.
Snapshot Water Monitoring Day is held by The Watershed Foundation and is generously sponsored this year by Main Channel Marina and Barbee Lakes Property Owners Association.
A few days before the event, you will receive an email with contact information for your monitoring partner, as well as additional details. At check-in on Snapshot Day, you will receive your sampling supplies, instructions, and directions to your testing sites! We hope you join us!
