Cold Weather Shelter Volunteers
Dear LifePoint Family,
The Cold Weather Shelter in Westminster is now open 24/7 during the pandemic and has moved to St. Paul United Church at 17 Bond Street ( corner of Green St. and Bond St) LifePoint will be providing meals only this season to avoid risk of exposure to Covid-19. Another change in procedure this year is that the team will be delivering the food and not staying to serve it. HSP staff ask that we prepare meals that are easy for 2 of them to serve to the guests. Food should be delivered in disposable pans/bowls/plates.
I will send your group an email about a week or so out, so that you can begin working together on a meal plan. On the evening of service you should arrive at the shelter at 6:30pm to drop off the food at the door to limit exposure. You can call this number or knock on the basement door by the playground: 443-201-3428 I know many of us will miss that time with the guests where we were able to pray over them, talk with them, and lend those listening ears. Although this year is different, it is still a very valuable service to our community.
