Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us!
At Second Harvest, we believe EVERYONE DESERVES TO EAT. We are the primary source of food for a network of 430+ food assistance programs across an 18-county service area. Each day of the week, we move 40 tons of food through our warehouses and out to where it is needed most.
Second Harvest cannot do what we do without the support of wonderful volunteers like you. Together, we make individual lives better and our communities healthy and hunger-free.
If you are not going to be able to make on your selected day, please cancel your reservation by removing your name from the signup list so others may sign up to volunteer and we can plan accordingly.
Volunteers will help sort and pack donated foods. Some boxes can weigh up to 25 lbs.
Have you completed an application?
If you have not already done so, please complete our Volunteer Information Form before you volunteer with us. (Applies if you are a new volunteer or have not volunteered in the past two years.)
Please make sure each volunteer in your group completes a Volunteer Information Form.
When you come:
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your start time to allow time to sign in. Check-in at the Volunteer Center located at 3610 Reed St. Winston-Salem, NC 27107
Important Warehouse Rules:
- No open-toed shoes
- Dress comfortably (jeans and t-shirt are just fine)
- Volunteers must be at least:
- 12 years old to volunteer
- There must be a ratio of 1 adult to 5 youth between the ages of 12 - 15.
- Volunteer information forms for youth under age 18 must be signed by a parent.
