Jodi's Race for Awareness is teaming up with Eco-Cycle to go for Zero Waste. Jodi's Race for Awareness™ was the inspiration of Jodi Brammeier, a Colorado native, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2008 at age 41. She was unaware of the vague and often misdiagnosed symptoms. Since there is no accurate screening test for ovarian cancer, Jodi made it her mission to raise awareness of the risk factors and symptoms through this 5K and 1 mile run/walk.
Come rally around the brave women who are fighting this deadly disease and remember the women who have passed on Saturday, June 8th from 6am to 11am at Denver's City Park, while helping divert most of the event's waste from the landfill.
Volunteering at a Zero Waste Event is fun and easy. You'll work as a Zero Waste Station "Goalie", making sure event-goers put their waste in the right place. You'll also help out with setting up or breaking down zero waste stations. This is a great opportunity to educate the public about Zero Waste, while attending an inspirational event.
There are two shifts available: 6am-8:30am and 8:30am-11am. You are more than welcome to sign up for both.
