Welcome Deck the Halls Cast Members! We are so excited that you are auditioning. Here are some details to help you along.
We have changed how our dance audition process works and are treating it like our group dance auditions for our summer musicals. Students will be asked to memorize a dance sent out a week ahead of time and will perform it in groups for our audition panel. Participating in the dance audition will help our team place your student within a dance group that will challenge them according to their technical ability. It is important that students come and audition - regardless of whether they are in a weekly dance class. Students who choose not to participate in the dance call will be placed in our most beginning dance group.
This slot does not guarantee you a certain audition time; it simply lets us know how many students we can expect that day. Please let us know in your sign-up what all you plan to audition for (Vocal, Dance, and/or Aerial Silks**).
**Only those who have are enrolled in an aerial silks class at CenterStage Performing Arts Academy may audition for aerial silks. This is for your own safety.
For the vocal audition, students need to prepare a Christmas style song approximately 1 minute in length (about a verse and chorus) to sing for the directors. Please do not sing acapella (without music)! Please provide a karaoke track for your audition. This can be on your phone or a CD.
For the dance audition, you will need to come in having learned the dance audition sent out a week ahead of time.
If you are a student in our Partnering Features and Pointe classes we will be sending the pas de deux choreography a week ahead of time to learn as well. We ask that both our female and male students enrolled in these classes learn this.
Please let us know during your dance audition if you have any special skills such as tumbling, gymnastics, baton, color guard, juggling, etc. Remember to wear something you can dance in. Also, please remember to bring your dance shoes.
For the aerial silks audition, our aerial silks instructor (Mrs. Megan) will teach you a short routine that you will perform for the audition. Please remember to wear something comfortable that you can perform aerial silks in. Aerial Silks auditions are for our En Flight Hammock students only. Students enrolled in a Section A, Company B, or Company A class are eligible to audition
What to expect on the audition day:
This is a first come, first served process. When you arrive, please sign-in with Ms. Brendan at the front desk and wait in the lobby for further instruction from one of our team members. All dance, pas de deux, and aerial auditions will take place in the theatre. When it is your turn to audition for a vocal solo, a team member will direct you to one of 2 audition rooms depending on what kind of audition you are doing.
Please be sure that you have notified us if you are doing multiple auditions. We will try to get auditioning students in and out very quickly. Once you have completed your audition(s), you are free to go. Please do not linger in the lobby after your audition. If you feel the need to socialize, please do so outside.
Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Include your name and type of audition (Vocal, Dance, Pas de deux, Silks) in your sign up. Thank you!
