Christ Church of Arlington
As we live into the new routine of gathering on Sundays, we will continue with our social distancing protocol each week, which includes signups for seating in the sanctuary. If you're planning on worshiping with us in the sanctuary this month, please let us know which dates you'll be attending by filling out the slots below.
Additionally, the Session has made a few updates to better enable easy seating in the sanctuary. Please make note of the following updates:
1) Usher-Directed Seating: To better assist you in finding a seat, we will have an usher at the entrance to the sanctuary. Please wait for the usher to direct you to a seat instead of seating yourself. We hope this will streamline the process, reduce uncertainty of where to sit, and allow us to have a greater understanding of when the sanctuary is at capacity.
2) Seating Groups: We've updated our occupancy numbers from individual numbers to seating groups. We believe that our sanctuary can safely hold 16 seating groups plus a pew for those who are unable to wear masks for the whole service. This will not affect the overall capacity much, but it will make seating options clearer. Please see this seating chart to understand how it will work.
3) Better Signage: To better indicate where the open seats are, we have added colored tape to the pews. The yellow pew on the front left is reserved for those who are unable to wear masks for the entire service. Open seats are indicated with green tape, and closed seats are indicated with red tape. There are also numbers on the pews that are open for seating.
4) Fellowship Hall and Narthex Overflow: Once the sanctuary is at capacity, all other attendees will be asked to sit in the narthex or the fellowship hall. The service will be displayed on the TV in the fellowship hall, so you will be able to participate fully in the service from there.
Our other policies are still in effect. As before, please continue to show grace to each other as we regather as a community. This has the potential for awkwardness and irritation, but if we approach it with charity, it has the opportunity to be a sweet time of worship in the midst of uncertainty. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your shepherding elder or one of the pastors.
