George Hay - Male. 40-60. An actor, something of a ham, but a compelling talent; former Broadway and film star. Jealous of those who are more successful than him.
Charlotte Hay - Female. 40-60. An actress, a still vivid former Broadway star and wife of George; cares deeply about her family but also her career.
Ethel - Female. 60-80. A dignified former star who tours with her daughter Charlotte and son-in-law George as the sole member of the wardrobe department. Almost completely deaf.
Rosalind - Female. 20-40. The daughter of George and Charlotte; an actress in their company who doesn't want to continue the family business. Hoping to instead have a "normal" life.
Howard - Male. 20-40. Howard works in TV as a weather reporter. He is good-natured and more than a little bit awkward; Rosalind's connection to a normal life.
Eileen - Female. 18-30. Eileen is a young actress, an ingénue in the touring company of George and Charlotte.
Paul - Male. 20-40. An actor, a longtime member of the touring company and Rosalind's former love interest; he wants to follow in George's footsteps and be a successful actor.
Richard - Male. 40-60. A lawyer to the stars, among whom are George and Charlotte; Richard has always been madly in love with Charlotte.
