United Methodist Churches, Communities, and Individuals of North GA
This is an opportunity to march with other United Methodist churches, reconciling communities, and individuals in Atlanta's 2021 Pride Parade. Together and in great numbers, we will march to express the love of Christ for all members of the LGBTQ+ community, advocate for equality in all fascets of society, and call for full inclusion in the life of the United Methodist Church.
A spot in the parade has been reserved under the collective name, "United Methodists of North GA." People will be encouraged to march together with their respective churches. Each church is encouraged to create an identifying banner behind which its laity and staff will march. It is also suggested that churches consider wearing matching t-shirts and handing out identifying give-aways.
This Sign-Up is NOT mandatory to particpate in the parade, but it is helpful to the organizers of this collective effort to know how many churches and/or individuals can be expected. If you are organizing the people of your church or reconciling community you are welcome to sign-up for others and update as necessary the estimated number of people participating. Alternatively, each person from a church may sign up individually and simply name their church. Reconciling United Methodists or other individuals are welcome to sign-up without a specific church affiliation and march anywhere in our parade procession.
As more details and logistical plans emerge from Pride ATL, they will be posted to the Facebook page for this event, the Facebook page for North GA Reconciling United Methodists, and to the Glenn Memorial UMC Rainbow Advocacy Page. You are encouraged to share this sign-up and other posted updates on the social media and communication platforms of your church or reconciling community.
Be a part, take a lead, organize others in the effort to spread the love of Christ!
