Welcome!  I am looking forward to sharing many memorable experiences with your family. Please help me make your child’s fourth grade year magical by signing up for at least one of the following jobs.  Your time and support make a huge difference.

Scholastic Book Coordinator

Facilitate ordering process, organize books for distribution, and manage the online account. Time commitment: 1-2 hours per month (can be done at home).

 

Friday Folder/Photocopy Manager

Make photocopies, file papers, and create weekly homework folders. Time commitment: 1 hour per week (must be done at Zion during school hours).

 

Auction Item(s) Coordinator

Communicate with parents to plan, organize, and deliver class auction item(s) for the school's Gala. Time commitment: 5-10 hours in the month of the Gala (can be done at home).

 

Gala Art Project Coordinator

Plan and facilitate a fourth grade art project that can sold in the Gala auction. Time Commitment: 5-10 hours plus (depending on the complexity of the project).

 

Videographer

Film special performing arts events throughout the school year and share footage with families. Time commitment: Varies depending on the number of events and the degree of video editing.

 

Photo Enthusiast

Gather pictures from fourth grade events and share with families and yearbook coordinator via Google Drive. Time commitment: 1 hour per month (can be done at home).

 

Science Night Coordinator

Plan and oversee two hands-on science experiments for the school-wide science night (typically January). Create kid-friendly educational handouts to be distributed at each station. Time commitment: 5-10 hours in January (some work can be done at home).

Medieval Feast Food Coordinator

Organize, prepare, and serve a special meal for the students on November 16th. Time commitment: 5-10 hours (depending on complexity of dishes and number of helpers).

 

Medieval Faire Decorator

Decorate the Parish Hall for the special event on November 16th.

 

Medieval Faire Craft Coordinator

Work with Mrs. Hovatter to plan and implement 1-2 craft stations for the event on November 16th. Time Commitment: 5-10 hours (some prep work may be done at home).

 

Chinese New Year Food Coordinator

Organize, prepare, and serve a special meal for the students on February 1st. Time Commitment: 5-10 hours (depending on complexity of dishes and number of helpers).

 

Chinese New Year Decorator

Decorate the classroom for Chinese New Year on February 1st.

 

Leveled Library Assistant

Take home a large tub of classroom books. Label the books with their appropriate reading levels. Training and materials will be provided by Mrs. Hovatter. Time Commitment: 5-10 hours (can be done at home any time throughout the school year).

Year End Breakfast Coordinator

Provide refreshments for students and parents at the 4th Grade Year End Breakfast on Thursday, June 2nd. Set up the food table and clean up after the event.

Joyville Bill Creator

Print, laminate, and cut apart a new classroom set of "Joyville Bills" (pretend money). Time commitment: 2-5 hours (Some work can be done at home. Must be completed by September).
