Thank you for signing up to volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry located at 3001 E. 30th Street. Our Food Pantry is the largest under one roof in the Midwest. We serve over 3,000 households in addition to delivering to 350 shut-ins each week. We need lots of help at the Food Pantry. Monday and Wednesday are non-shopping days. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are shopping days (8am-12pm), and Thursday evenings from 5-7pm.
Going east on 30th Street, turn right into the driveway and proceed to the back of the building to the volunteer parking lot. Go in through the Volunteer Entrance (door #8), sign in and ask for Bob or Tonya who will get you started for the day. (Alternative parking is north of 30th Street across from the Pantry.)
We need help sorting canned food, repackaging produce and meat, and putting groceries in the trunks of the vehicles of the neighbors we serve on shopping days. There are many days and times to volunteer. We provide gloves, have hand sanitizing stations and exercise social distancing wherever possible. Masks are mandatory if you have not been vaccinated for any reason but you are welcome to wear one. If you have one, please bring it with you. If not, we have some on hand. Please dress comfortably and in layers. Also note that open toe shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.
The demand on our Food Pantry has greatly increased during these difficult times and we greatly appreciate your willingness to help us help others.
We understand life happens. If you have signed up and find you can't make it after all, please delete your signup so someone else can take advantage of your available slot. Should you have a group interested in volunteering, please contact me directly. Thank you for giving of your time and talent to help those less fortunate in Central Indiana.
