Thank you for signing up to volunteer at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry located at 3001 E. 30th Street. Our Food Pantry is the largest under one roof in the Midwest. We serve over 3,000 households in addition to delivering to 350 shut-ins each week. We need lots of help at the Food Pantry. We have gone to a drive-thru operation so it is not necessary for those we serve to enter the building. We need help packing food boxes, repackaging produce, making boxes and putting boxes of food in the trunks of the vehicles of the people we serve on shopping days. There are many days and times to volunteer. We provide gloves, have hand sanitizing stations and exercise social distancing wherever possible. Masks are mandatory so, if you have one, please bring it with you. If not, we have some on hand. Please dress comfortably and in layers. Also note that open toe shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.
Should you select a shopping day to volunteer (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 8am-12pm) there will be a long line of cars waiting to get in. Going east on 30th Street, bypass the line and turn right at the driveway. Tell the security guard you are a volunteer. Turn right into the volunteer parking lot. Enter through door #4, go up the ramp, sign in and ask for Skip or Tonya who will get you started for the day.
The demand on our Food Pantry has greatly increased during these difficult times and we greatly appreciate your willingness to help us help others.
We understand life happens. If you have signed up and find you can't make it after all, please delete your signup so someone else can take advantage of your available slot. Thank you for giving of your time and talent to help those less fortunate in Central Indiana.
