Have some spare time to spend helping those less fortunate in our community? Then you've come to the right place. St. Vincent de Paul is looking for volunteers to assist us with organizing and sorting all the donations that arrive from generous folks in and around Indianapolis. These donations are either given to those who need household items and clothing or sold in our Mission 27 Resale Store to support our outreach programs. Each of the following departments needs assistance organizing, sorting, hanging and/or pricing donations:
- Men's, Women's and Children's Clothing
- Knick Knacks and Seasonal items
Our Distribution Center is located at 1201 E. Maryland Street and we provide a friendly, compassionate volunteer environment. There is parking on Maryland Street, come in through the Volunteer Entrance and sign in. When you arrive ask for Mary LaBuz or Virginia Cox-Withers and they will get you started for the day. Dress comfortably and in layers and note that open toe shoes are not permitted.
Come once, come once a week or once a month. Since we are almost a 100% volunteer-run organization we rely on people like you to help us help others ... we couldn't do what we do without you. Please note there are 6 signups for each day. Any questions? Darlene Sweeney, Volunteer Coordinator, [email protected]
We understand life happens. If you have signed up and find you can't make it after all, please delete your signup so someone else can take advantage of your available site.
From all of us at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, thank you ... we are grateful.
