Have some spare time to spend helping those less fortunate in our community? Then you've come to the right place. St. Vincent de Paul is looking for volunteers to assist us with organizing all the donations that arrive from generous folks in and around Indianapolis. These donations are either given to those who need household items and clothing or sold in our Mission 27 Resale Store to support our outreach programs. We are specifically looking for volunteers to assist with processing donations ... sorting, tagging and hanging clothing; sorting household items and linens; assembling bar stools and other pieces of furniture and assisting our dock manager receiving donations.
Our Distribution Center is located at 1201 E. Maryland Street and we provide a friendly, compassionate volunteer environment. There is parking on Maryland Street, come in through the Volunteer Entrance and sign in. When you arrive ask for Jeff Blackwell and he will get you started for the day. Dress comfortably and in layers and note that open toe shoes are not permitted.
We provide gloves, hand sanitizing stations and practice social distancing wherever possible. Masks are mandatory so if you have one, please bring it. If not, one will be provided.
Come once, come once a week or once a month. Since we are almost a 100% volunteer-run organization we rely on people like you to help us help others ... we couldn't do what we do without you. Questions? Contact Darlene Sweeney, Director of Volunteer Services, [email protected]
