Summer RE Volunteers
Children love to eat and they enjoy cooking. This summer we will be introducing them to different cultures through food. During class we will use stories about food and cooking and then cook together to give children a “taste” of different cultures around the world. Each week there will be an alternate art activity tied to the lesson for those who would prefer that. We will tie in with our principles that encourage learning and growth, value and respect for others and our goals to build a more peaceful world. The stories also contain lessons about helping each other, being part of a community, being adventurous, being independent, sharing and the importance of family.
Although designed for elementary ages, middle and high school youth are encouraged to help lead the classes by signing up to work alongside adults, tell the story and assist with cooking.
