Redwood Odyssey of the Mind
Since ALL coaches, new and experienced, must attend a coach's training in order to present a team at the regional competition, we are offering 3 trainings this fall. Each team must have at least ONE coach who will attend training this fall. No exceptions.
- For new coaches, plan on a full day of training 9:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. Bring lunch - beverages will be provided.
- For experienced coaches who, according to our records, have gone through the New Coaches Training, plan on a partial day that starts at 12:00 P.M. and runs through 3:00. Beverages provided.
To register, take a slot, and sign up for the training you will attend. All participants must be sure to sgn in upon arrival at the training. Even if you are not sure which Long-Term problem your team will do, please pick a long-term problem that is probably close to what the team will pick. The important point of the afternoon sessions to to learn how to really read the long term problem and understand its parts.
The team loves acting, but doesn't to like to do anything mechanical...You could pick either Problem 3 or Problem 5 since the scoring for both problems has a focus on acting...mechanics not so much.
The team loves engines and/or creating machines that complete tasks. They also enjoy building items from scratch. For this crew, you should choose Problem 1, 2, or 4.
See you this fall!
