After School Club WINTER 2019

Monday-

A Games Sports Intro to Basketball, offered to grades K-1 @$285 per child: Kids will have the opportunity to work on and improve their fundamental basketball skills in a safe and fun environment, developing all of the tools needed to play basketball well

A Games Sports Basketball Clinicoffered to grades 2-4 @$285 per child : Players in the program, whether they are beginners or advanced, will be be trained in: speed, ball handling, defense, form, control, passing, angles, conditioning, footwork, explosiveness and most importantly, overall court awareness and intelligence.

Budding Buddhas Yoga, offered to grades K-2 @ $275 per child: After School Programs are fun and structured, targeting physical strength and emotional stability through age appropriate yoga poses, breath work and mindfulness meditation. Yoga flow helps kids release and redirect energy, which supports success in school, sports and everyday life. Taught by Certified Kids Yoga Instructors from Budding Buddhas Children's Yoga.

Hocus Pocus Magic (Monday) with Next Level, offered to grades 1-4 @$325: This is a general course in magic and mindreading. Student will learn basic sleight of hand magic. They will learn tricks with cards, coins, and everyday objects. The course will boost creativity and imagination. Kids will be able to create their own tricks and entertain all audiences. Each student will get to keep the magic kits provided. NOTE- additional payment to Next Level $50 for supplies.

Dates include- (1/7, 1/14, 1/28, 2/4, 2/11, 2/25, 3/11, 3/18, 3/25, 4/1, 4/8)

Tuesday-

Intro to 3D Printing with Mac Inspires, offered to grades 3-5 @$295 per child:    Inspire students to create 3D structures using design based thinking! Students learn the basics of 3D design & printing by initially creating a house – anything from their future home to a lunar dwelling – using the application of math, science, art and technology skills in a fun way!  Students work towards mastering skills by creating a product, toy or model.  Encourages students to think creatively to produce anything from recreating their favorite droid to a designing tablet stand – whatever they can dream up! This course is a great introduction into the exploration of 3D printing from design to production!

Little Scientists with Mac Inspires, offered to grades K-2 @$295 per child: Little Scientists sparks the interest of K-2 students through fun and educational experiments. Ranging from balloon rockets to making lightning, students learn about surface tension, matter, exothermic reactions, acids, bases and catalysts! Students take home their experiments & creations when applicable. 

Multi-Sport (Tuesday) with Next Level, offered to grades 1-4 @ $295 per child: Next Level is offering multi-sport program Our offering includes instruction and development in basketball, soccer, handball, dodgeball and in a fun atmosphere.

Ben Foster Soccer Program, offered to grades K-1 @ $285 per child

Ben Foster Soccer Program, offered to grades 2-4 @$285 per child

New Amsterdam Fencing, offered to grades 1-4 @$285 per child: FIT Kids (fencers in training!) beginning swordsmen engage in an hour-long class that uses the building blocks of competitive fencing to emphasize the importance of working together while also fostering the child’s ability to think individually and critically starting from an early age. First through third graders engage in games and exercises that focus on the development of hand-eye coordination, general fitness, and body movement. 

Paint on Pottery with Plaster Palace Pottery, offered to grades preK-1 @$250 per child: pick one of dozens of incredible pieces we have sourced from factories all over the world, Brainstorm your one-of-a-kind design, get inspired and browse our art books or create your own original design and create your masterpiece!  

Dates include- (1/9, 1/16, 1/23, 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/27, 3/6, 3/13, 3/20, 3/27, 4/3)

Thursday-

Little Athletes Circuit Training with Nate Ortiz offered to grades 2-4 @ $275 per child:  Little Athletes Circuit Training provides your child with the fundamentals they need to succeed in any sport. At our program children will learn how to improve their cardiovascular health, agility training, balance, coordination, and strength. These classes are not only meant to channel the inner athlete in your child, but to understand and learn how to have fun and learn about Teamwork. 

STEM with Next Level,  offered to grades 2-4 @ $350 per child: The program will help students discover five key STEM areas of concentration. Activities will be introduced in 60 minute segments for 2 consecutive weeks. NOTE: additional $50 payment to Next Level is needed for supplies. They include:  Introduction to Scratch programming-    Scratch is a programming platform introduced by MIT and supported by Harvard University. It is especially valuable for encouraging creativity and problem solving.  The Next Level program will introduce new students to basic Scratch capabilities through simple game design and digital storytelling. Students with experience with Scratch will be encouraged to expand their skills through advanced game design and development. Robotics- Next Level has a range of robots that help students understand how robots work, their value to they way we work and live, and how to control and program them. We will use the FINCH Robot developed by Carnegie Mellon University (and adopted by the Mamaroneck School District) to introduce all ages of students to the rapidly expanding world of robotics. Rocketry- Our rocketry program is designed to be both safe and exciting. Students will design, build and launch air powered stomp rockets sed on a program used at the NASA space camp. Students learn about rockets and space exploration. We will include a unit of space capsule survival. Circuitry/ElectronicsStudents will start by designing and building simple circuits. They quickly progress to a more sophisticated understanding of circuitry through the exploration of Little Bits electronic kits and projects based on them. We also use the Makey Makey invention (electronics) kits. Tinkering- Tinkering will include a potpourri of activities that will encourage students to explore multiple technologies. We expect that students will “tinker” through creative play to discover a wide range of projects designed to challenge their creativity, problem solving,and persistence. 

One River Art Program, offered to grades K-2 @ $435 per child: Young artists engage in art making through creative projects that stimulate imagination and help develop important art techniques and skills. Students learn drawing, painting and sculpture through subject matter that is fun and engaging.One River's Kids Art classes are built around our unique, project-based curriculum that celebrates artists and techniques from the last 50 years.  It is built for young creative minds and our instructors are hand selected with the skills and sensibility to get the most out of our students.  Our method teaches across all media and makes learning art fun while producing ambitious artistic / educational outcomes across a wide array of materials, subject matter and complexity.

Friday

Sean Rivera Tennis Program, offered to grades 1-4 @$295 per child: TGA makes it convenient and fun for your child to learn and play tennis right on their school campus!  Our proprietary curriculums for elementary school and middle school were created by TGA's education experts and the United States Tennis Association (USTA). Students will experience a mix of tennis instruction, rules & etiquette lessons, educational components, character development lessons and physical activity as they advance through the five-level program.  Our screened and certified instructors have a passion for working with children and are trained to help your student athlete develop a strong foundation of skills and knowledge as well as a passion for the sport. TGA provides all equipment, First-time students receive a TGA hat, Students earn achievement awards at every level, Maximum 10:1 student to instructor ratio

One River Art Program, offered to grades 3-5 @ $435 per child: Young artists engage in art making through creative projects that stimulate imagination and help develop important art techniques and skills.
