We have partnered with VNA Hospice to start helping them out with their meals on wheels program. Molding Doctors will come together in groups to deliver meals to seniors in need. VNA provides geographically compact, efficient routes for volunteers to follow. Volunteers will meet up at the Richardson Spring Valley United Methodist Church (7700 Spring Valley Road Dallas, Texas 75254) and be put into groups of three. One person will be the driver and the rest will be the helpers. Drivers will receive extra MD Points for helping out. VNA will not compensate drivers for gas use. The morning begins around 10:30a.m, where you will all meet up to view and/or quickly tour the kitchen, receive a brief training and pack up the warm/cool bags that contain each of the meals to be delivered for the day (each cooler contains one hot and cold food). A typical route serves 7-11 clients and takes about two hours to deliver (most often, the routes take an hour to an hour ½). Once your group has had a chance to finish the routes, everyone will return back to the kitchen site to drop off delivery coolers and the day is done! We have multiple Friday morning volunteer opportunities coming up with this organization.
***You will receive 2 MD points for participating and an extra 1 MD point if you are a driver***
