City of Edmond Stormwater Quality
The City of Edmond is offering a volunteer opportunity for the public to work alongside City staff in a regional effort to encourage Oklahoma residents to conserve water, reduce water pollution, improve air quality, and divert waste from landfills through the use of rain barrels and compost bins.
On Saturday, March 28th from 8AM-2PM, the City of Edmond’s Stormwater Quality Division will be hosting a Rain Barrel & Compost Bin Distribution Event at the City of Edmond’s Cross Timbers Municipal Complex at 2012 Old Timbers Dr (SE corner of I-35 and Covell Rd). During 2-hr shifts, volunteers will assist City staff distribute rain barrels, compost bins, and accessories to Edmond residents who placed an order with Upcycle Products during the promotional period.
The event will occur rain or shine so volunteers should wear comfortable clothing, close-toed shoes, and bring sun or rain protection. Work gloves are also recommended. Bottled water will be provided. Parking will be available in the parking lot adjacent to the Cross Timber’s Municipal Complex.
The opening shift from 8am - 10am has 10 volunteer slots available since it is the most active time period of the outreach event. The remaining shifts only require 4 volunteers.
